Identification:
A medium-sized scorpion with a relatively slender body and long tail. Color varies from yellowish-brown to dark brown, sometimes appearing almost black. The pincers are relatively narrow compared to bulkier species, while the tail is elongated and ends in a prominent stinger. Surface texture appears slightly granular.

Habitat:
Arid and semi-arid environments including rocky areas, scrublands, deserts, and agricultural margins. Often shelters under stones, in burrows, or within cracks in soil.

Status in the Region:
Native to the Levant region. Found in countries such as Palestine, Jordan, and parts of surrounding areas. In Lebanon, presence is possible but not well documented compared to other species.

Diet:
Carnivorous — feeds on insects, spiders, and other small arthropods.

Behavior:
Nocturnal and secretive. Hides during the day and becomes active at night. Hunts using a combination of pincers and venomous sting. When threatened, it adopts a defensive posture with raised tail.
