MΓΌllerβs Snake (Micrelaps muelleri) is a small and elusive species found in parts of the Middle East, including Lebanon, where it inhabits dry, rocky hillsides and Mediterranean scrub. Rarely seen due to its secretive and mostly nocturnal behavior, this snake spends much of its time hidden beneath stones or within loose soil. Its striking pattern of black, pale, and reddish tones gives it a coral snakeβlike appearance, serving as an effective deterrent to predators. Despite its vivid coloration, it is non-aggressive and poses little threat to humans. Feeding primarily on small reptiles and invertebrates, MΓΌllerβs Snake plays a subtle but important role in maintaining ecological balance within its habitat.
