Identification:
A lively medium-sized bulbul with a dark head and a distinctive white eye-ring that gives the species its name. The upperparts are olive-brown, while the underparts are paler greyish-brown. The undertail coverts are bright yellow and highly visible in flight or when the tail is raised. The bill and legs are dark, and the bird often appears active and alert.

Habitat:
Gardens, orchards, scrublands, parks, villages, forest edges, and Mediterranean habitats with trees and shrubs.

Status in Lebanon:
Common resident and breeder across much of the country.

Diet:
Omnivorous — feeds on fruits, berries, nectar, insects, and other small invertebrates.

Behavior:
Highly active and social, usually seen in pairs or small groups. Frequently moves through shrubs and trees while calling loudly. Adaptable and comfortable around human settlements. Plays an important role in seed dispersal and pollination.
