Identification:
A very small and slender warbler-like bird with a long graduated tail often held upright. The upperparts are warm brown to sandy-brown with fine streaking, while the underparts are pale buff to whitish. It has a thin slightly curved bill and a pale eyebrow. The tail is frequently flicked and appears relatively long compared to the body.

Habitat:
Scrublands, reedbeds, gardens, agricultural areas, dry wadis, and areas with dense low vegetation.

Status in Lebanon:
Common resident and breeder in suitable habitats, especially in lowlands and coastal regions.

Diet:
Insectivorous — feeds mainly on insects, larvae, spiders, and other small invertebrates.

Behavior:
Extremely active and vocal. Constantly moves through low vegetation while flicking its tail. Often climbs stems and reeds while searching for prey. Its repetitive calls are characteristic in dense scrub habitats. Usually seen singly or in pairs.
