Identification:
A small tree frog with a smooth body and long limbs adapted for climbing. Coloration is highly variable, ranging from bright green to yellowish or lemon-yellow, sometimes with darker markings. A thin dark stripe often runs from the snout through the eye along the side of the body. The toe pads are well developed, allowing it to cling to vegetation and vertical surfaces.

Habitat:
Wetlands, ponds, streams, orchards, gardens, and areas with dense vegetation near water.

Status in the Region:
Native to the Levant and surrounding regions. Common in suitable habitats, including Lebanon.

Diet:
Carnivorous — feeds on insects and other small invertebrates.

Behavior:
Nocturnal and highly vocal, especially during the breeding season. Males produce loud calls near water to attract females. Excellent climber, often found on leaves, branches, or reeds. During the day, it remains hidden in vegetation.
