Identification:
A very small, compact bird with a short tail often held upright. Plumage is warm brown with fine dark barring across the body, wings, and tail. The bill is thin and slightly downcurved. The face shows a subtle pale eyebrow. Despite its size, it has a rounded, energetic appearance.

Habitat:
Dense vegetation, woodlands, forest edges, scrublands, gardens, and areas with thick undergrowth or rocky cover.

Status in Lebanon:
Resident and winter visitor. Found in suitable habitats with dense cover.

Diet:
Insectivorous — feeds mainly on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates.

Behavior:
Highly active and often seen darting through dense vegetation or along the ground. Frequently flicks its tail upward. Despite its small size, it has a loud and complex song. Usually solitary and territorial.
