Capturing natural behavior from a respectful distance β€” without intrusion.

The Eurasian Kestrel Story is a field-based wildlife documentation project that follows a pair of Eurasian Kestrels (Falco tinnunculus) through their entire breeding cycle β€” from nest discovery and incubation through chick growth and fledging. Set against the rugged cliffs of Lebanon, this story is not merely a collection of images, but a chronological narrative of survival, parental care, environmental challenge, and youthful first flights.

This work highlights the ethical principles of nest photography: maintaining distance, minimizing disturbance, and respecting wild animal behavior. Over the course of several weeks, the project recorded key milestones such as territorial defense, egg incubation, chick hatching, feeding routines, fledgling training, and the uncertain moments of survival when weather and predation pose real risks.

Through careful observation and ethical practice, the Eurasian Kestrel Story brings viewers closer to the lives of these raptors, tracking the emotional rhythm of a breeding season while revealing the ecological dynamics that shape their survival and growth. This narrative reference can be an inspiring example for similar wildlife documentary efforts in the region.
