The Pied Wheatear (Oenanthe pleschanka) is a migratory passerine bird that passes through the United Arab Emirates during its spring and autumn migrations. This species favors desert and semi-desert habitats, often seen in rocky outcrops, wadis, sandy plains, and open shrublands, where it perches on stones or low vegetation while scanning for insects. Males are striking with their contrasting black-and-white plumage, while females display more subdued brown tones, blending well with their surroundings.
