Salamanders & Newts of Lebanon

Salamanders and newts are secretive amphibians closely associated with cool, moist habitats, freshwater pools and mountain environments. This collection documents salamanders and newts photographed in Lebanon, where seasonal water, forested landscapes and rocky mountain habitats provide important refuges for these often-hidden species. Through field photography, we aim to document their natural appearance and habitats while highlighting a lesser-seen part of Lebanon’s amphibian diversity and the ecosystems these species depend on.
