The Lesser Noddy (Anous tenuirostris) is a small, tropical seabird with dark brown plumage, a pale grayish-white crown, and a slender, slightly curved bill. Closely related to the Brown Noddy, it is more delicate in build and has a more restricted range. This species breeds in large colonies on remote islands in the Indian Ocean, including the Seychelles, Maldives, and parts of the Arabian Sea. Lesser Noddies primarily feed on small fish and squid, often foraging close to the ocean's surface. They are rarely seen far from their breeding sites but may occasionally wander into coastal waters of the UAE. Their graceful flight and strong colonial nesting behavior make them a fascinating species within tropical marine ecosystems.
