The Sardinian Warbler (Curruca melanocephala) is a small, active passerine commonly found in Lebanon, where it is a resident breeder in suitable habitats. It prefers dense scrub, Mediterranean maquis, and bushy areas, often remaining hidden within vegetation but revealing its presence through its sharp, rattling calls. Males are distinctive with a black head, white throat, and red eye-ring, while females are more subdued with a greyish head. It feeds mainly on insects and small invertebrates, supplementing its diet with berries and fruits, especially outside the breeding season. Its constant movement and vocal nature make it a characteristic bird of Lebanon’s shrublands.
