The Syrian Serin (Serinus syriacus) is a range-restricted mountain finch and a regular summer breeder in Lebanon, where it is closely associated with rocky slopes, open montane woodland, and cedar, pine, and fir zones, usually between about 900 and 1,900 meters. It is a small, lively finch with a rather plain grey-brown appearance, yellow tones in the wings and tail, and a fine conical bill adapted for feeding on seeds and small plant material. In Lebanon, it is most often found in the higher mountain landscapes during the breeding season, and its presence carries special conservation importance because the species has a limited range and is globally listed as Vulnerable
