The Hajar Banded Ground Gecko (Trachydactylus hajarensis) is a nocturnal ground gecko endemic to the Hajar Mountains of the United Arab Emirates and northern Oman. It is associated with rocky habitats, gravelly slopes, stony wadis, and mountain foothills, often in areas with sparse vegetation. Its sandy-brown to grey coloration and banded pattern help it blend with stones and dry ground, making it difficult to spot unless seen at night by torchlight. Unlike wall-climbing house geckos, it is mainly terrestrial, moving across rocks and compact ground while searching for small insects and other invertebrates. This species is part of the unique reptile diversity of the Hajar Mountains and is currently treated as Least Concern (LC) globally.
